It all started back when Violent J was around 7 years old. J was outside with his older brother Rob (Jump Steady) playing in their front yard catching grasshoppers, sticking them in a jar, when J's brother caught the butterfly. Now, this was a huge-ass butterfly, a beautiful butterfly, it was so big that they were scared and they didn't know what to do, so they agreed to keep the butterfly in their house for 1 night. That night it was very hot inside their room, and they knew the butterfly would much rather be out flying around in the cool night sky than to be stuck in their hot room. What they did was turn on a fan for it to keep it cool. That night it was hard for them to sleep with an enormous butterfly in their room, it kept tapping on the glass of the jar. The next morning when J got up, he ran to the butterfly only to find it laying life less at the bottom of the jar. As a 7 year old boy, J felt so bad about this, so horrible, and guilty that they had a funeral for the butterfly in their backyard. That day they promised that 1 day when they die they will meet up with the butterfly and apologize to it. After they grew up and became wicked clowns, and crazy mother fuckers they seemed to forget about it. J dedicates all his albums to something so pure and so beautiful as the butterfly and explains that when he dies, he will still find that butterfly an' apologize to it.
